Free Document Update Service
If your Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago, it is mandatory to re-upload Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA). This service is FREE of cost on the myAadhaar portal till further notice.
How to Update Address Online?
Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and login using your Aadhaar Number and OTP.
Click on “Address Update” > “Update Aadhaar Online”. Read the instructions and proceed.
Carefully type your new address. Upload a valid Proof of Address (POA) document (e.g., Voter ID, Electricity Bill, Rent Agreement).
Pay the non-refundable fee of ₹50. You will get a Service Request Number (SRN). Save it to track status.

Q1. Can I update my Mobile Number online?
No, you cannot update your mobile number online. You must visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra for biometric verification.
Q2. How many times can I change my name?
As per UIDAI rules, you can update your Name only Twice in your lifetime. Date of Birth can be updated only Once.
Q3. How long does the update process take?
Ideally, it takes 5 to 7 days, but the maximum time limit defined by UIDAI is 30 days depending on verification.
Q4. My request was rejected. Why?
Common reasons include: Document image not clear, Name on document not matching Aadhaar exactly, or uploading an invalid document type.
