How to Use e-Aadhaar Services – Step-by-Step Guide

Whether you’re downloading your Aadhaar card or updating your registered mobile number, the My e-Aadhaar platform offers a fast, secure, and government-linked experience. Follow this simple step-by-step guide to take control of your Aadhaar details online.

1

Download Your e-Aadhaar Instantly

To download your e-Aadhaar, visit the Download Aadhaar page and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID). You’ll receive a secure OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP, complete the CAPTCHA, and instantly download your e-Aadhaar in PDF format. This digital copy is equally valid as a physical card.

2

Update Mobile Number Easily

If your Aadhaar is not linked to a mobile number or you wish to change it, visit the Update Mobile Number service. You’ll need to visit a UIDAI-authorized Aadhaar Seva Kendra and carry a valid government-issued ID. The executive will capture your biometrics and process the request. Within 3-5 working days, your new number will be updated in the UIDAI system.

3

Check Aadhaar Update or Enrollment Status

Once you apply for a new Aadhaar or submit an update, you can track its real-time status on the Check Status page. Just enter your Enrollment ID or URN (Update Request Number). You’ll be able to see whether your update is under review, approved, or rejected — along with any next steps if action is required.

4

Request Reprint of Aadhaar

If you’ve lost your Aadhaar card or simply want a fresh copy, you can request a reprint from UIDAI. Visit the Reprint Aadhaar section, verify your identity via OTP, and pay a nominal fee (₹50). The reprinted Aadhaar will be delivered to your registered address via India Post in 5-7 working days.

5

Verify Aadhaar Number

You can verify whether an Aadhaar number is valid or not using the UIDAI verification tool. Simply go to the Verify Aadhaar page, enter the number, and the system will instantly tell you if it’s active, inactive, or invalid.
